Good therapy is about building a healthy relationship that seeks to heal your past

When you saw a picture of me, what did you think? Who did I remind you of? What did it spark in you? Good therapy is about building a healthy relationship that seeks to heal your past, so that whenever someone reminds you of someone, or does something, or shares a situation with you that might activate feelings within you, you will have cultivated awareness and can be in control of your actions and reactions. Ultimately, this leads to a calmer, more stress free life.

We need to talk

Have you ever received a WhatsApp that simply says “we need to talk”? Yeah, me too. How did it make you feel? I know that those kinds of messages used to make me go into panic mode. I’d be thinking, ‘what have I done?’… ‘what have they found out?’

After my own therapy I can take a truly rational approach to these kinds of messages, reply calmly and move on with my day until – for example- whoever sent the message calls me. Would you like to be able to do that kind of thing too?

How do we work together?

Entering into a new therapeutic dynamic is something which can come out of interest or necessity, and can bring new challenges, insights and clarity on previous work you may have done. Because of my previous career in vocal coaching and voice therapy, I have a special interest in working with singers, actors, students wanting to train at drama school, and other performance artists who feel they are without a voice.

The process

    Step one

    Initial consultation

    • We begin with an initial consultation which lasts 50 minutes.

    • In this consultation, we both decide whether we think we can work together.

    Step two

    We begin therapy

    • If we decide to begin therapy, each session lasts 50 minutes and occurs weekly for a minimum of six weeks. This is because I am interested in working in the medium to long term with you to help really get to the root cause of the issues you are facing

    Step three

    Ending therapy

    • When we feel like the work is coming to a close, we will discuss ending the therapy.

    • We will both agree on an end date for the sessions, appropriately closing the relationship. This is a really important part of therapy, as we often go through life having not ended things well.

    Frequently asked questions

I've been in therapy before but it didn't help

If you are looking for someone to help increase the depth of your understanding about your Self, but you’re unsure of whether to engage in a journey, talk to me. “I’ve been in therapy before, but it didn’t help” is something I hear almost weekly, and I get it – not all clients like or can engage with their therapists, and the same is true in reverse. You have to find a good fit. Truly the only way of knowing whether we can work together is to begin the process.

How do I know therapy is safe?

Each registered therapist strictly adheres to an ethical framework of the register. Because of my training, I belong to the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). The framework exists to hold the public’s safety and best interests as the highest priority. Therapists who belong to the BACP, UKCP, BPS or HCPC all undergo rigorous training which requires many hours of personal therapy, supervision and a formal training program of at least two and a half years.

What style of therapy do you use?

am trained as an integrative counsellor holding an Advanced Diploma which means I draw on several modalities and therapy styles at once.

I also hold a foundation certificate in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy and am working towards my BA(hons) Integrative Counselling (graduation in 2024).

You can hear me talk with renowned psychoanalyst Dawn Estefan on the subject of modalities in therapy here

How many clients do you have?

When we are working together, you have my full attention. For that reason, and because I really feel that it is important to get to know and understand you as best I can, I will only see a handful of clients per week.
