A Weekend Workshop: An Introduction To Group Analysis

Group Analysis is an established form of psychotherapy, as well as a way of thinking about and understanding group dynamics and group behaviour. The group-analytic perspective is relevant to all types of group functioning: therapy groups, work groups, organizations, etc.. One's effectiveness in groups can be enhanced through participating in group experiences.

A light supper will be provided on Friday evening.

It is important that participants stay for the duration of the course, as it is primarily experiential.

Aim: The aim of the workshop is to introduce participants to an experience of Group Analysis as a method of thinking about and facilitating groups.

Content: The workshop consists mainly of experiential groups with some theoretical input.

Object: The purpose of the experiential groups is to learn about oneself and group processes from the here and now experience within the group.

For Whom: The workshop will be useful for:

• Professionals interested in working with groups (therapy groups, art/OT groups, activity groups, community groups, staff groups etc.) who wish to find out more about the practice of group analysis.
• Anyone interested to find out more about the group-analytic approach to psychotherapy for themselves.
